Experience as a family law lawyer teaches us (lawyers) a lot about human nature and the destructive repetitive behaviors that lead a person to eventually be captive in the past without being able to move forward into a better and healthier future.
These people are stuck in their own past and constant stagnation with the past is a good recipe for a lifetime of imprisonment of one’s own past.
There are several types of separation, including divorce by consent, from a partner/spouse but unfortunately, couples in general chose to separate after a legal battle leaving them with more bitterness.
A separation does not need to be difficult or ugly especially when there is an early preparation prior to the separation. A separation should be built in stages leading to a final separation without animosity avoiding a partner’s desire to seek revenge in the future.
It is impossible to forget completely the difficulties we had experienced in our past relationship. Evil and the shepherd, sometimes become part of our married life prior to a separation.
It is important to leave the past behind, but that does not mean that we have to bury our heads in the sand.
However, there is an enormous difference between those starting a new life: There are those with “full awareness of the past” and those of whom “memory” and “constant reckoning” are a way of life.
Being unable to see the good in the past will prevent one’s ability to feed the present when starting a new life. It is possible to live a healthy life with a comprehensive view of the past, present, and future. One would need to give up dealing with negative vices and memories.
The method of one step forward and three steps back will lead a person to a life of depression and prevent him from progressing and self-strengthening in the future.
Forgiveness is essential and the first person you should forgive is yourself.
