The Brazilian government was the first and the only one so far to recall their Ambassador as an act of protest. Because Brazil is not relevant in the International Political arena, the best way to handle this affront is of course to ignore it.
But the United States of America IS a very relevant player: Obama has infringed every diplomatic understanding, every etiquette between two friendly countries by his blatant and prohibited interference in internal matters of a sovereign friendly country – especially Israel which is considered not only a friendly country but mainly a strategic partner.
The Policy of no intervention – The Peace of Westphalia:
(The principle of national sovereignty—that a nation is sovereign over its population)
The United States refused to intervene in the Rwandan genocide of 1994, when the Hutu population in a period of less than 100 days killed an estimated 800,000 Tutsis.
It is clear this “conflict” didn’t bring any advantage to the US therefore they decided to stay out of it.
The US flouted the policy many times since then, such was the case of: Yugoslavia, Egypt, Syria, etc. Mainly because it was in America’s best interest.
Obviously the US has no problem interfering and intervening in any conflict when it suits them, but will not permit any other country to criticize its policy or Go-d forbid accept any interference into its internal affairs. Double standards guiding the US since the Monroe Doctrine of 1821 is not an exclusively American policy, the double standard policy is the regular policy of the United Nations as well.
What is good for America:

Let’s be clear: This is completely accepted by the “free world” as legal, Kosher and even moral but what about this hypothetical statement below:
“Let our position be absolutely clear: An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Israeli Air Space in our region by the use of rockets and missiles will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of Israel, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force”

Imagine the outcry over such a statement if it were made by the Jewish leader of the only Jewish country in the world. This would be considered an international crime!
Since the end of World War II, American crude interventions throughout the world resulted in the deaths of more than two million people, wounded millions, maimed many more, dislocated and uprooted hundreds of thousands and destroyed dozens of different infrastructures and economies – but accomplished very little besides a Nobel Prize to a President who never brought a shred of real peace to the world.
